Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large herds of elephants and diverse landscapes, ranging from seasonal swamps to vast savannah plains. The Tarangire River, which winds through the park, serves as the primary source of water for wildlife during the dry season, attracting a high concentration of animals.
During your game drive, you may have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife including lions stalking their prey, leopards resting in acacia trees, as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous bird species. Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. The crater is home to approximately 30,000 large mammals that reside here year-round, including buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and the endangered black rhinoceros.
The crater also hosts a wide variety of birdlife, including flamingos, eagles, and buzzards, particularly around the soda lake at the crater floor. Due to the high concentration of wildlife within a relatively small area, Ngorongoro offers excellent game viewing opportunities and the chance to see many animals within a short period of time.
